What: A well-known International award winner artist Parag Borse will be displaying his latest series ‘Mirror Speaks…’ in dry pastels on paper and oil on canvas. An artist born and brought up at Karjat, a village near Mumbai (Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra State) has developed his art by learning from the nature around him.

The renowned ‘Pastel Journal, U.S.A. 2013’ took note of his work and honoured him with ‘Ruth Richeson’ Award for his portrait ‘Wrinkles and the Rooster’. He stands as the first Indian artist to have been bestowed upon this coveted honour. He had his art education in the reputed Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai that nurtured the inborn talent and creativity in him. The very name of the present exhibition ‘Mirror Speaks…’ reveals the basic ideology of his work. Parag Borse has indicated that when he makes a painting, he is transformed into a mirror. So, while doing his work, he links himself only with the present the way a mirror does. The mirror is content with only what it sees (viz. present) without reference to the past or the future with bias if any. In a way, Parag adopts the ideology of blissful ignorance of surroundings like a mirror. Consequently, his transformation into a guise like a mirror with impartial attitude and due to linking himself with the present only certainly produces astonishing and amazing visual effects and aesthetic glows in the work that proudly demonstrates the excellent harmony of colour tonal patterns through rhythmic resonance.
