An Indian YouTuber named Ishan Sharma who recently visited Harvard University in the US was surprised to come across merchandise crafted from Pakistan there and priced at a hefty price. As Sharma walked into a merch store there, he came across a Harvard merchandise with a 'Made in Pakistan' label and priced at Rs 12,000.
Ishan Sharma, a a 21 year old content creator living in Bengaluru, shared his experience of visiting Harvard on X (formerly known as Twitter) and said what left him stunned. As he went shopping at the foreign destination, he found out Harvard merchandise for Rs 12,000 and the product was labeled 'Made in Pakistan'.
"Came to Harvard to buy merch. This one's is Rs. 12,000! But Made in Pakistan?" he wrote on the social media platform while sharing a couple of photos from the store alongside. One of the images happened to be a selfie he clicked wearing the attire, while the other focused on the label it carried.
Netizens react
Learning that products made in Pakistan are available at Harvard, Sharma as well as netizens were left stunned. A few were skeptical about the quality of these products and asked Sharma to not buy them for himself. "Don’t buy that stuff, it’s worst. I got one with same stuff and same design, it got ling on it after wearing first time," read a reply.
On the other side, one of the comments that stole attention read, "Hope it is not bomb vest." The comment allegedly surfaced considering Pakistan's contribution in terrorism and bombing. Earlier this month, addressing the unrest in J&K, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha pointed out that Pakistan is sending foreign terrorists to India, who have carried out heinous acts. As of 2023 Global Terrorism Index, Pakistan observed one of the top positions. It ranked fourth on the list of countries impacted with terrorism.
