The debate between Gen Z and Millennials is not new, but this debate has taken a further step as Gen Z says that Millennials should avoid or stop using the 'thumbs-up' emoji.

Gen Z vs Millennials?

Gen Z is the generation born between the mid-to-late 1990s and early 2010s. This is the generation that has grown up around technology.

Whereas millennials were born between the early 1980s and the mid-1990s, when technology was growing, this distinction has always pushed millennials and Gen Z into the mainstream.

The younger generation, Gen Z, believes that many emojis should be avoided. A survey in which 2,000 people from ages 16 to 29 participated found that the heart and thumbs-up emojis are for older people.

Recently, a Reddit user posted a question about whether they should feel comfortable as adults using the thumbs-up emoji or not.
