Whereas millennials were born between the early 1980s and the mid-1990s, when technology was growing, this distinction has always pushed millennials and Gen Z into the mainstream.

The younger generation, Gen Z, believes that many emojis should be avoided. A survey in which 2,000 people from ages 16 to 29 participated found that the heart and thumbs-up emojis are for older people.
