Indore YOU may find it weird but it is true. In the recently announced results of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission ( MPPSC) exam for taxation assistant posts, the cut- off for OBC category candidates is m
uch higher than that of general category.
This stunning fact came to fore when a candidate used RTI to learn about the cut- off marks.
‘Much to my surprise, the MPPSC informed me that the cut- off for OBC was 288 for male and 266 for female while for general its 271 for male and 251 for female,’the RTI applicant said adding that he never came across such result previously.
According to information, the MPPSC had conducted the exam for filling up as many as 275 post of taxation assistant in the Commercial Tax Department, on June 25, 2010.
A year after the exams, the Commission announced the results and subsequently conducted interviews.
Having not received interview call from the MPPSC, a candidate sought to know the cut- offs in all the categories – General, SC/ ST and OBC, but he was not given information on the excuse of alt145 confidential data. To this, he used the RTI Act forcing the commission officials to furnish the ‘so- called confidential details’. ‘The information came from the MPPSC took me aback and now Im planning to move court,’the candidate said.
Sources said that the MPPSC had stopped announcing merit list of candidates after dispute emerged among some candidates two years back.
