Actor Kalidas Jayaram took to social media to confirm his presence in filmmaker S. Shankar's 'Indian 2', the much-awaited sequel of the 1996 hit 'Indian'. Starring veteran superstar Kamal Haasan in the lead, Kalidas' presence marks the actors' collaboration with one another after they starred as father and son in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's 2022 hit 'Vikram'.
Posting a captionless pic of himself with director Shankar, the picture was enough to convey his presence in the film.
The actor will be joining the cast and crew for the film's ongoing schedule in Taiwan.
Slated for release, later in 2023, the film will continue from where the prequel concluded with Senapathy (Haasan) calling Inspector Krishnaswamy (Nedumudi Venu) and warning him about his return from Singapore. A portion of the film will also be set in the pre-independence era.
Co-starring Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram and Bobby Simha in pivotal roles, music of the film will be rendered by Anirudh Ravichander, while cinematographer Ravi Varman will bring Shankar's vision to his able frames.
