Pimpri-Chinchwad: Shocking CCTV footage has gone viral on social media, showing a 26-year-old vegetable vendor was seriously injured after an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon over a dispute related to selling vegetables in Pimpri-Chinchwad on Wednesday morning. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed near the spot.

The accused fled after the attack, and Pimpri Police have launched a search to trace him.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 8 am on August 5 on the road outside Ganesh Sweets in Pimpri.
The injured vendor has been identified as Akram Rafiq Khan (26), a resident of Milind Nagar in Pimpri. He runs a vegetable stall outside the shop.
Based on Khan’s complaint, Pimpri Police have registered a case under Section 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against an unidentified auto-rickshaw driver, believed to be around 30 years old. Police said the accused was operating a vegetable stall at the same location and was driving an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number MH 14 CU 1567.
According to the complaint, the accused had warned Khan on August 4 not to sell vegetables near his stall. The next morning, allegedly over the same dispute and previous enmity, the accused attacked Khan with a sharp weapon, slashing his neck before fleeing the scene.
Local residents rushed the injured vendor to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Police said his injuries are serious.
Investigators have seized CCTV footage from the area, which captured the attack. The footage is being examined as part of the investigation.
Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact sequence of events and motive behind the attack.
