Thane: The heavy rains in Thane for the last four days have opened the reality of preparation by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC). Due to potholes, Thanekars are getting stuck in the traffic for hours. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Thane and Palghar district president Avinash Jadhav took potshots at the potholes issue and said, "The Chief Minister is from Thane and then also the road is in a bad shape. So even if Thanekar becomes a Prime Minister, the roads will remain the same.

Avinash Jadhav, while criticising the work done by the TMC, said, "There is a need to create awareness among Thanekars."

June's entire month was dry but from July the rains started to pick and the four days of continuous rains exposed the administration's planning. Due to continuous rains for the last four days, potholes have come up on the Mumbai-Nashik highway along with the expressway. As a result, huge traffic jams are taking place on the Mumbai-Nashik highway as well as on Majivada junction and Ghodbunder road on Kalyan and Nashik roads. MNS district president Avinash Jadhav who was on his way to Vasai from Thane Municipal Corporation headquarters got stuck near Viviana Mall for half an hour. Outraged by this, Jadhav slammed the government along with the administration.

"Ambulances and school vehicles in the city are getting stuck in the traffic jam for hours. There are queues of vehicles till the residence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Traffic jams are also occurring on service roads. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the work of filling the potholes on the road is underway by the concerned authority. However, the impact of this traffic jam is being felt by the working class and the citizens. Residents of the Ghodbunder area are most affected. At the same time, school children and ambulances are also stuck for hours. The transport department and the administration are failing to fill the potholes and remove the traffic congestion,” alleged Avinash Jadhav.

Jadhav further added, “like every year, there are potholes. There are so many MLAs in Thane, even if those MLAs are given ministerial posts, the problem has not been solved yet."

"Even if someone becomes Prime Minister from Thane, the problem will remain the same. Improvements will only come if there is awareness in Thanekar, otherwise, these problems will persist. Think about whom to vote for from now onwards," said Jadhav.
