Navi Mumbai: NMMC sees first death in July due to Covid

After February 26, for the first time, two deaths were reported on June 22 and 23 under the civic jurisdiction. Again, on July 8, one more death was reported

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) saw one more death due to Covid on July 8. The number of deaths due to Covid reached 2052. Last month, two deaths were reported who were also Covid positive.

After February 26, for the first time, two deaths were reported on June 22 and 23 under the civic jurisdiction. Again, on July 8, one more death was reported.

Meanwhile, there is a slight rise in daily new cases and active cases of Covid under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

On July 8, a total of 107 new cases were reported and 152 patients got discharged. For the last week, the civic body is seeing more patients getting discharged than new active cases of Covid being reported in its jurisdiction. This has led to a sharp drop in the number of active cases.

At present, the number of active cases stands at 710.

Last month, around 7000 new cases of Covid were reported. At the beginning of May, the number of active cases was around 50.

At present, 522 people are in home isolation and only 3 patients are getting treatment at Covid care centre at Cidco Exhibition centre in Vashi.
