Mumbai: Parents of students studying at Matushri Kashiben Vrajlal Valia International Vidyalaya (MKVVIV) School at Borivali (west) will protest to raise their demands before the state government. Over 2,500 students have been affected after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) withdrew its provisional affiliation of this school. In addition, parents claimed that these students are forcefully made to shift to a school situated in an unsafe environment.
The parents have approached the Bombay High Court (HC) after the school decided to shift these students to Sheth Gopalji Hemraj (GH) High School at Borivali (east). Currently, the HC has ordered a stay on this shift. They claimed that though the case is being heard in the court, they will protest to highlight this issue so that the state government intervenes in this matter.
Suspecting a hidden intention, the parents stated that the politicians want to commercialise the school plot. The Free Press Journal had earlier reported this issue and now the parents have decided to approach the state education minister Vinod Tawde. Bhavik Shah, a parent said, “Though the court case is going on we want to highlight this issue after all it is a question of the lives of 2,500 students.” Over 60 parents have formed a core committee and approached education activist Sachin Pawar.
