Mumbai: Man held for storing cannabis worth ₹3 lakh in Andheri

A 46-year-old man was arrested by the officials of crime branch unit 8 from Andheri (W) on Friday for allegedly storing Cannabis, also known as Ganja. The accused man, identified as Afzal Badshah Khan has been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act.

According to police sources, a team from crime branch unit 8 had received information that a person was storing a large amount of banned drugs, Ganja, at New Shyamnagar Chawl, on Veera Desai Road in Andheri (W). Acting on this tip-off, a trap was laid and police raided the premises at Veera Desai Road and apprehended Khan.

During checking, police also seized Ganja weighing 10.50 kg from the spot, which was valued at ₹3,00,000 in the market. While police seized the material, Khan was taken into custody and handed over to Amboli Police for further probe.

Subsequently, a case was lodged against Khan at Amboli police station where he was booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
