Party’s state president Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan is likely to be replaced either by party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya or minister of parliamentary affairs Narottam Mishra.
Despite being Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on his side and Amit Shah’s approval for his tenure till 2019, Nand Kumar will be removed by the end of October. He may be given a role in national politics after his removal. Wrath of RSS and Nand Kumar’s souring relations with organizational general secretary Suhas Bhagat is seen as the reason for the change. In his recent three day visit to the state Amit Shah had dropped hint over Bhagat’s future roles in the party. The way he discussed government related matters with CM but party related issues with Bhagat, it became clear that it will be now Bhagat’s writ that will run in the organisation.
On the other hand, Nand Kumar has failed to have a grip over the party and workers in his three years tenure. Vijayvargiya is believed to be a close associate of Shah and he may be given charge in the view of upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha polls.Mishra, who is also believed to be on good terms with the party’s national president, had played a role in UP assembly elections. He has recently been given the charge of Durg Loksabha seat in Chhattisgarh. On the top of that, state BJP in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe is also on the side of Mishra which may strengthen his chances of state president.
