Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Sitting MLA and Congress candidate from Indore-1 Sanjay Shukla said he would end city's night culture if Congress would return to power.

“We had launched protest against night culture led by Women’s Congress but BJP government didn’t pay heed. Night culture is ruining city. It has led to rise in crime and addiction,” Shukla told media persons after submitting his nomination form at collectorate on Wednesday.

“Kailash Vijayvargiya is our guest. We will give all the respect to him like we give to a guest. We will see off the guest with same respect from our constituency on December 3 after winning election,” Shukla said.

He charged Vijayvargiya with campaigning with criminals. “Criminals are campaigning in the constituency. People like Manoj Parmar are claiming that they will become MLA if Vijayvargiya wins. People will not let goons enter the constituency. Their son will win elections,” Shukla said.

Responding to a query, he held Vijayavargiya responsible for rise in drug addiction in Indore-2 and Indore-3 constituency. “I didn’t allow new liquor shop to open in my constituency in last five years. Liquor shops and pubs are flourishing in Indore-2 but they didn’t take action despite BJP's 20-year rule in the state. He is alleging that consumption of liquor and drugs is high in my constituency. He (Vijayvargiya) is doing this because he has no issues to raise,” Shukla added.
