Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, during a road show on Wednesday, said that development had eluded the city when the Congress was in power. “People used to call Indore-2 constituency a mill area. There were narrow streets and pothole-ridden roads, which would get submerged during the rainy season. There was no drainage line and no arrangements for drinking water. This was the picture of Indore-2 during the Congress rule,” Vijayvargiya said during the road show taken out in the Indore-2 constituency in support of BJP candidate Pushyamitra Bhargav.
“When the BJP came to power and I became mayor, I made a comprehensive action plan for the development of the backward areas of the city. There is a network of roads in the city today. A new bullion market has come up on the Pardeshipura and Patnipura main roads. This is the only area in Indore where everything—from readymade items to common necessities, such as crockery—is available. It’s time to give a new impetus to the development of Indore,” he said.
Bhargav said Indore had become a role model for development due to the tireless efforts of Vijayvargiya and MLA Ramesh Mendola.
Mendola said “actions speak louder than words” was not just a slogan, but a reality.
Munna Lal Yadav and other senior leaders of the constituency accompanied Vijayvargiya, Bhargav and Mendola.
