Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Directorate General of Employment (DGE), Union Ministry of Labour and Employment is implementing a programme for providing vocational rehabilitation assistance to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) through a network of 24 National Career Service Centres for Differently Abled (NCSC-DAS) across the country.
“DGE is providing a stipend of Rs 2500 per month per trainee for a maximum duration of 12 months to PwDs,” All Indian Council for Technical Education said in a letter addressed to higher educational institutions (HEIs).
The letter added, the ministry is also proposing to enhance the rate of the stipend paid to PwDs for which a comparative statement of similar stipend being paid by Ministries needs to be prepared for further consideration.
In view of the above, AICTE has asked HEIs to provide a copy of such schemes which may be in operation in the institute for facilitating the preparation of a consolidated comparative statement to DGE.
HEIs have also been directed to disseminate this information among students, faculty and staff members, so that, the needy may take benefit of the scheme.
