Meghnagar: Villagers of Jhaida, Kampan, Antervelia and Negadiya had been requesting the government, administrative officials and even political leaders to construct a road interconnecting their villages from years, but nobody paid heed to their woes. However, seeing the government apathy, some youths of these villages took the initiative to construct the road by their own and finally finished the construction of one km long road connecting the four villages together.
Villagers said that they had been facing many problems in commuting from one village to another, as there was no road to interconnect the villages. They said that when they asked the sarpanch to construct the road, he refused them by saying that they had not given him votes at the time of elections and so, he should not listen to them. They also complained about the same to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, but in vain.
After running from pillar to post in vain, youths of these villages had decided to construct the most needed road by their own and also collected Rs 2 lakh for the purpose. Finally, they constructed the road with crushed stones and mud. They said that though they did not have enough funds to construct an asphalt road, the road will at least facilitate the villagers to visit the villages easily. They said that bikes and tractors can easily ply on the road even when it rains.
