Kolkata: A day after being appointed as the national general secretary of All India Trinamool Congress, Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the houses of three senior TMC leaders on Sunday.
At first the newly inducted national general secretary visited secretary general of TMC Partha Chatterjee’s residence and after spending a few hours there he left to visit TMC president Subrata Bakshi. After Bakshi, Abhishek also visited the residence of West Bengal Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee.
According to TMC sources, the visit of Abhishek at the residences of these ace politicians sends a message that he will seek their help in expanding the ruling Trinamool Congress.
“Many a times it was alleged that Abhishek Banerjee runs a monopoly, but today's visit makes it very clear that the young batch along with the senior and astute leaders of the TMC will work together for the betterment of the people of West Bengal,” mentioned the sources.
