Recital of the National Anthem during morning prayers at Madarsas in Uttar Pradesh has been made mandatory. The state government on Thursday issued an order in this regard making it a must practice with immediate effect.
The order would be applicable on all government aided and unaided Madarsas of UP. As per it the daily recital of National Anthem would be done before classes in Madarsas. The minority welfare minister of UP, Danish Azad Ansari said that this would inculcate social values among the students of Madarsas. He said that the Yogi government is working on a project to upgrade the Muslim religious schools under which the students would be taught maths, science, computer along with the holy books.
It may be mentioned that soon after the formation of new government, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had made an announcement making recital of National Anthem mandatory in all Madarsas. However due to Ramzan holiday the orders in this regard was not issued. The teachings in Madarsas have commenced again from Thursday and the orders were delivered the same day.
Reacting sharply at it, the spokesperson of Darul Uloom Firangi Mahal, Maulana Sufian said that there was no harm in it. He said that no one has ever objected to recitals of the National Anthem in madarsas, but the government should also think about providing other resources to upgrade.
