The police in Ghaziabad have apprehended Priya Sharma along with her partner, gym instructor Pratap Singh, for the savage attempted homicide of her spouse, Shashank Kantharia. The distressing event occurred early on Monday morning, October 26, 2026, in the Vasundhara Sector 1 region of Ghaziabad.
According to reports, the woman allegedly planned her husband's murder with the help of her gym trainer lover. The police arrested both accused in connection with the case.
Woman and alleged lover arrested
According to the police, the two allegedly wanted to marry each other, and that's why they planned to eliminate Shashank after he discovered their relationship. The accused have been identified as Pratap Singh, a trainer at Fitness Headquarters gym, and Priya Sharma, Shashank's wife. Both were arrested by the Ghaziabad police on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
Husband stabbed multiple times at home
According to reports, Pratap entered the residence armed with knives and repeatedly stabbed Shashank while he was fast asleep. Shashank’s young daughter was sleeping right next to him. The child woke up and began screaming in terror, alerting the society's security guards and neighbours. The incident took place at the Jagriti RWA Society in Vasundhara Sector 1. The attack took place in the early morning around 5:15 am on October 26, when Priya was leaving home to go to the gym, as per the statement of the police.
Victim hospitalised after attack
Shashank, who was seriously injured, was sent to Yashoda Medicity Hospital by police for treatment. According to police, Pratap told investigators that he and Priya wanted to get married. However, Shashank had learnt about their relationship and was preparing to move to another flat after Diwali.
Police reveal alleged murder conspiracy
Police claim that Pratap and Priya met during a morning run on October 25, a day before the attack. During this meeting, the two allegedly discussed eliminating Shashank, who is now battling for his life at the hospital.
