Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor turns 66 today. He is a man who has made us laugh with his comic skill and has been equally good at spreading fear as villain. The moment we hear the name Shakti Kapoor, the first thing that comes in our mind is ‘Aauuu’. Remembered his famous dialogue from Raja Babu ‘Nandu Sabka Bandu’ that gives us a friendship goal.
Apart from his filmi career, he is also a proud father of two children – Shraddha Kapoor and Siddhant Kapoor. He may have played many bad characters on screen, but he is a good human being and a good father even. We have seen and heard that Shakti loves his daughter a lot and is possessive about her.
So, on his birthday, we look deeper into the father-daughter relationship.
Dad Shakti gives a sweet life lesson to daughter Shraddha
The bad guy of Bollywood had some pearls of wisdom for his daughter Shraddha Kapoor. Talking about her two-back-to-back failures (Rock On 2 and Ok Jaanu) to DNA, this is what papa Kapoor had to say: Unlike me, Shraddha has got a rich father, so she can take it easy… says Shakti Kapoor.
“There are no shortcuts in life. Shraddha, your daddy needs to understand that you’re no longer a “nanha sa, pyara sa, chhota sa bachcha”. You’re a financially independent woman, who can take care of her needs and take pride in her failure. She needs no daddy’s paisa to back her.
This is not the kind of role model you want to be for all the young ladies out there. And if we go by your father’s logic, Shraddha, you probably would never have to work. ’Cuz you’ll marry a rich guy, just so that you can take it easy.
The problem is not your flop films, but this regressive behaviour that’s deep-rooted in our society, which needs to be eradicated. The notion that men don’t give a shit about a woman’s career comes alive in this one ridiculous sentence.”
Shakti watches Shraddha’s movie outside Mumbai
Shakti Kapoor believes that watching Shraddha’s newly-released movie in Delhi is luckiest for her. He always flies to Delhi to watch her movie. Before the release of ‘Half Girlfriend’, he flew to Delhi and watched the first show. He reveals to Hindustan Times, “Before the release of Half Girlfriend, I flew to Delhi to watch the film. I watched the first show. Thankfully, the film did well. It wasn’t a super-duper hit, but did decent business. When you become a father, these thoughts come to your mind that main apni beti ki khushi ke liye main kidhar bhi jaunga (For my daughter’s happiness, I’ll go anywhere).
“Every successful film of your child is like a successful film you are doing. Earlier, I used to be involved in my work, and now I want to see what my children are doing. I tell them that the most insecure life in the world is that of a celebrity. I make sure I give them the best advice,” he added.
‘Shraddha Kapoor is not a player, she is a very pure girl’
Shakti Kapoor also stands up to protect her in each and every situation and also does not stop himself from praising her in a public. Talking to a leading daily, Shakti Kapoor had said, “She has been a very fine daughter. She understands her responsibility towards her parents. She is very true to herself. She is not a liar, she is not a player, she is a very pure girl.”
When Shraddha bought a new house for herself…
Shraddha stays with her family but still she bought a flat in the same apartment for other stuff. On this Shakti said, “She is a lovely daughter. She bought her own house, but still, she prefers staying with us. I always encourage her to be independent and live the way she wants but still, she prefers to be with her parents. Like I said, she is the boss of herself. We give her advice but always allow her to choose for herself.”
Farhan and Shraddha dating secretly?
It was rumoured that Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor are dating each other. Rumours had it that while Shraddha left her father’s house and came to Farhan Akhtar’s place to stay, her father dragged her in public on a road. While talking to India.com, Shakti rubbished the news and said, “It’s a total shit news. Shraddha and I are laughing over it. I have been in this industry since 35 years and all this news doesn’t affect me at all”.
An entertainment portal reported, “Shraddha was planning to live in with Farhan Akhtar and her family was clearly not happy with her decision. And the day she visited Farhan’s house to make an arrangement for live in, she was dragged by her father and aunt Padmini Kolhapure from Farhan’s house. Shraddha chose not to create any scene and left from the society quietly.”
