Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are all set to take their nuptial vows on December 2 at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. Reportedly, the duo will also be getting married once again as per Christian tradition on December 3. Priyanka and Nick’s wedding is going to be the grand affair of the year as the pre-wedding ceremonies will begin from November 29. But did you know how much Priyanka and Nick have spent on their stay and pre-wedding ceremonies for their destination wedding? Well, as per the report of DNA, the duo has spent around Rs 4 crore on hotel stay and other pre-wedding functions.
Both the families – Chopra and Jonas, have booked the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace for the wedding from November 29 to December 3. Apparently, the daily contacted the Palace and inquired about a reservation around the same date. The personnel from the reservation counter told, “None of the rooms are available on these dates. We have rooms till November 28 and again starting from December 4. We are completely booked for the five days in between.” In fact, the pre-wedding ceremonies, including the haldi, sangeet and mehendi will take place at the venue. “The couple has booked the fort from November 29 to December 1. It will be closed for tourists on these three days,” adds our source.
As per the calculations of the leading daily, Priyanka with mom and her brother, along with Nick and his immediate family will board a chopper from Jodhpur airport to the Umaid Bhawan Palace. The grand yellow sandstone property has 64 luxurious rooms and suites — 22 palace rooms and 42 suites that are segregated into four types (24 historical suites, 10 royal suites, six grand royal suites and two presidential suites). The hotel further informed the daily about the prices (per night, exclusive of taxes) for each room — Rs 47,300 for palace rooms, Rs 65,300 for historical suites, Rs 1.45 lakh for royal suites, Rs 2.30 lakh for grand royal suites and Rs 5.04 lakh for presidential suites. The total cost of booking the entire hotel for one night sums up to approximately Rs 64.40 lakh per night. The hotel has been booked for a total of five days, so just the accommodation will reportedly cost around Rs 3.2 crore for PC and Nick. Notably, this is excluding the other expenses like food, expenditure for different ceremonies and the booking cost for the three days of rituals at the Mehrangarh Fort.
Moreover, the management officials told the publication, “A minimum of 40 rooms needs to be booked at the Umaid Bhawan Palace for the ceremony to happen at the Mehrangarh Fort. There will also be an additional cost of Rs 10 lakh for the set-up, which also includes lighting and stage if required as well as other miscellaneous things. Along with that, the cost of catering will be Rs 18,000 per person.” Reportedly, an 80-odd member contingent will attend PC-Nick’s grand wedding. According to the officer, the three-day cost of setting up everything at the fort will be approximately Rs 30 lakh and the catering for them over three ceremonies will come roughly around Rs 43 lakh. So, the total expenditure for the pre-wedding functions is estimated to be around Rs 73 lakh for the couple. In the end, the total cost of the venue and pre-wedding rituals reportedly add up to Rs 3.93 crore for the Jodi.
