Bollywood has many legendary families which have been ruling the industry for many years. Right from Kapoor family to Roshan family, celebrities who are associated with their respective families have never missed any chance to make them proud. Amid all of them, is the Dutt family.
Dutt era started by actor Sunil Dutt, who ruled the industry with his solid work. Later, in 1981, yet another i.e. Sanjay Dutt took this legacy of Dutt family forward but many times, he failed to keep his family’s name glorifying for a longer time. Right from his drug addiction to involvement in 1993 blast case, Sanjay Dutt was trapped in several problems.
Apart from that, Sanjay Dutt impressed audiences with his performances in the films with his unique touch. Before the death of Sunil Dutt, he made his father proud of being a work enthusiastic actor. Sanjay Dutt and his sisters Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt have always been sharing their strong relationship with each other. But did you know that the sibling trio once upon a time experienced a rough patch in their relationship?
It all started in 2009 when Sanjay Dutt contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections as a candidate for the Samajwadi Party, while his sister Priya Dutt was already a candidate of Congress. Due to TADA case, the court refused to suspend his conviction hence he had to withdraw his candidature. He was then appointed General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, leaving that post in December 2010.
This involvement of Sanjay Dutt into the rival party created a major tiff between him and Priya. The sibling duo was not on talking terms. Apart from that, Sanjay Dutt’s decision of marrying third time with item dancer from Bollywood films, Maanayata Dutt, disappointed Priya as well as Namrata a lot.
Notably, in 2008, Priya and Namrata didn’t even attend their wedding in 2008. After all, Sanjay Dutt was first married to Richa Sharma but after her death in 1996, he got married for the second time with Rhea Pillai in 1998 and divorced in 2008.
Time healed their sibling rivalry and now Priya, Namrata and Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala are on good terms with Maanayata. Recently, Maanayata and Sanjay celebrated thier 10th wedding anniversary with the entire Dutt family.
