R. Madhavan is a successful Indian actor, writer and film producer. He has been described as one of the few actors in India who has pan-Indian appeal, having appeared in films from seven different languages. He has received three Filmfare Awards and an award from the Tamil Nadu State Film Award along with recognition and nominations from other organisations. He who ruled the hearts of women in the ’90s with his charm and soulful eyes, is celebrating his 48th birthday today, 1st June. On his special day, we would like to put in picture his lady love, who has been his pillar of strength since 1991.
Madhavan met his wife Sarita Birje for the first time at a Maharashtra workshop in 1991, when she attended his personality development classes on the recommendation of her cousins. Sarita was able to use the skills she had learned from Madhavan’s classes to pass an interview to become an air hostess and after completing the course, to thank Madhavan, she took him out for dinner and eventually the pair began dating.
They tied the knot after 8 years of courtship in 1999 before Madhavan entered mainstream films.
Madhavan made his Bollywood debut with the much-appreciated film, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, opposite Dia Mirza in 2001. The movie gained a lot of appreciation and established Maddy as the new chocolate boy. Since then, there has been no looking back for him.
The couple welcomed their son, Vedanta in 2005. Sarita has worked as a costume designer in a few of Madhavan’s films, most notably for Guru En Aalu (2009) when she worked along with Erum Ali, the wife of Madhavan’s co-star, Abbas, for their respective husbands.
It is Sarita who manages all the finances of Madhavan, he earns and lets his wife make decisions about the investments. Like any other normal couple, they love sharing time together, going for holidays but they also give necessary space to each other.
Madhavan will next be seen in a Telugu romantic-action film Savyasachi which be releasing on 12th July, 2018. In Bollywood, he will next be seen sharing screen with Saif Ali Khan in Anand L. Rai production helmed by filmmaker Navdeep Singh, which is expected to go on floors next month.
