The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is Asia’s first Energy and Core Sector University which spreads over in 42-acre spacious Campus in Dehradun. UPES undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are focused on some of the fast emerging Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation and Applied IT (EIT) domains, thus offering career opportunities to youngsters keen on participating in the India’s growth story. Apart from its focus on core sector programmes, UPES now offers a wide range of career oriented UG and PG programmes.

The School of Public Policy (SoPP) & Governance at UPES aims to prepare students for careers in administrative services and policy making. BA in Public Policy programme has an innovative curriculum with built-in coaching component for Indian Administration Services (IAS) provided by Dr. Lakshmaiah IAS Study Circle, the institution with one of the highest success rates.
All the academic courses at UPES have been developed with practical inputs from senior professionals in the various core sector domains and leading academicians with a proven track record. UPES’ College of Engineering Studies offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes across a wide spectrum of specialization areas. These include Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Exploration, Energy Systems, Geo-Science Engineering, Automotive Design Engineering, Instrumentation & Process Control, Aerospace Engineering, Disaster Management, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Nanotechnology, Fire Safety Engineering, Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and several others.
UGC approved and NAAC accredited, UPES offers 87 management, engineering, BA, MA & law programmes to more than 10000 students in the high growth sectors. The Campus in Dehradun provides congenial environment for a healthy academic, professional and personal growth. The campus is fully equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and learning tools for domain specific engineering studies. This includes a Fire Safety Ground, Biodiesel Fueling Station, Solar Installation, In-house Oil Rig, Tatra Truck as well as a Wind Mill apart from other facilities such as smart classrooms and an exhaustive e-library with digitized resources.
