Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt on Friday marked six years of sobriety and dedicated a special post to celebrate the day.
She took to her Instagram handle to share a sunkissed selfie of herself and wrote, "Six years sober today.. Gratitude,gravitas,grace."
She also used the hashtags #sobrietyrocks #sixyearssober #onedayatatime along with her post.
Pooja's followers lauded her in the comments section and several users called her an inspiration for others wanting to quit alcohol.
Actress Dia Mirza too appreciated Pooja's efforts and dropped a butterfly emoticon under her post.
Pooja Bhatt's battle with alcoholism
Pooja, who is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and half sister to Alia Bhatt, has been vocal about her struggles with alcohol.
Earlier, in an interview with The Free Press Journal, Pooja had shared, "I am in the most beautiful phase of my life. I used to love to drink and I drank openly but since life gave me the second shot, I haven’t touched it for the last six years. I realised, that alcohol was being used to escape but I just pulled the plug one day. I got the new direction to my life, the neediness as a woman diminished. I believed a bottle of champagne and a toxic relationship is equivalent. Till the time you use something or someone to fill up a vacuum in your heart, you are an addict."
Pooja Bhatt's latest release
Pooja was last seen in the film 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist', which was directed by R Balki. It also starred Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhanwantary in key roles.
She was also seen in the OTT show 'Bombay Begums' and films like 'Sadak 2'.
