Jiah Khan Suicide Case: A special CBI court in Mumbai finally passed the verdict in the sensational Jiah Khan suicide case on Friday, almost 10 years after the actress' shocking demise.
Actor Sooraj Pancholi, who is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was accused of abetment of suicide by Jiah's mother. Sooraj was in a relationship with Jiah until she ended her life.
On Friday, the court pronounced Sooraj as "not guilty" and he was given clean chit, citing lack of evidence.

The verdict was earlier set to be pronounced at 10:30 am, however, Jiah's mother Rabia submitted some last-minute documents to the court, due to which the verdict was pushed to 12:30 pm.
The judge asked Sooraj to come forward and announced that the actor has been aquitted due to "paucity of evidence".
Prior to the verdict, Sooraj's mother Zarina had said, "I know my son is innocent. I am fully confident that my son will get justice, because he is innocent."
The court also informed Jiah's mother Rabia Khan of her right to appeal against the order.

Jiah was found hanging in her bedroom at her Juhu residence on June 3, 2013. Along with her mortal remains, her mother Rabiya also found a suicide note that was left behind by the 'Ghajini' actress, blaming Sooraj for her death.
Rabiya later lodged a complaint with the police, accusing Sooraj of "murdering" her daughter. Soora was then arrested on the basis of the suicide note, but he was later released on bail.
Post his bail, Rabiya moved to the Bombay High Court, seeking transfer of the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation. Not just that, but she had also penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking help from him to get justice for her daughter.
