Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey, who is best known for films like 'Lakshya', 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', and 'Ek Tha Tiger' to name a few, took to Twitter to inform the demise of his father and filmmaker KD Shorey.
“My beloved father, Krishan Dev Shorey, passed away peacefully last night at the ripe old age of 92, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind wonderful memories and many admirers. I have lost my greatest source of inspiration and protection,” he tweeted.
KD Shorey also known as Krishan Dev Shorey directed the 1988 film 'Maha-Yuddh' starring Paresh Rawal, Mukesh Khanna, Kader Khan, and Gulshan Grover.
He also bankrolled films like 'Be-Reham' and 'Bad Aur Badnaam' among others.

Meanwhile, Ranvir in his two-decade-long career in films has managed to stay afloat on his own.
The actor said he was "sidelined" by mainstream cinema, which initially affected him, but he pushed himself to work in the independent space. "I was lucky enough to stand out in independent films. I am surviving on my own, it is a great achievement for me. I had to crawl inch by inch to make my space. Wherever I am today is not thanks to so-called mainstream bigwigs as they have tried their best to sideline me," Shorey told PTI in 2020.
He further stated, "Nobody gave me meaty or lead roles in mainstream films, except one film 'Ugly Aur Pagli'. It didn't do well and after that nobody gave me a chance. If a star kid has a flop, it is not that they will not be given a lead role. If I give one unsuccessful film at the box office, the chances of getting a lead film in the mainstream are over."
On the work front, Ranvir will next be seen in 'RK/RKay', 'Mumbaikar', and 'Tiger 3'.
