Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar recently recreated the iconic Falguni Pathak song 'Maine Payal Hai Chhankai' and released it as 'O Sajna', and since then, the internet, as well as the OG singer, have not been able to keep their calm.
Ever since the release of the song, Falguni has been sharing posts criticising Neha on her social media. She also stated that she feels like she should take legal action against the new rendition and against the makers for ruining the song.
And now, during an interaction with Times of India, Falguni stated that she actually felt like throwing up when she first heard 'O Sajna'.
"I got to know about the remixed version three-four days back. First reaction was not good. I was like, mujhe bas ulti aani baaki thi, aisa ho gaya tha," she said.
She added that the original song had an innocence which the new version is lacking.
Falguni went on to advise the younger generation of musicians that even if they decide to remix a song, they should not "make it cheap".
"My fans are taking action against the song. I am just sharing the stories. Why should I keep quiet when they are supporting me, main kaise chup baithun," she said.
The original song was released in 1999. It was played out as a puppet show in a college fest. The song was a massive hit with fans listening to it even today.
The new 'O Sajna' features Priyank Sharma and Dhanashree Verma alongside Neha. It shares the hook line and tune of the original song with additional lyrics added by Jaani.
