New Delhi/Bhopal: Conditions are likely to be favourable for advancement of southwest monsoon over remaining parts of west Uttar Pradesh, some more parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi by Saturday, the India Meteorological Department said.
These weather conditions would bring scattered-to-widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy rains very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh from Thursday onwards, it said.
The weather bureau forecast scattered-to-widespread rainfall very likely over north-west India from Friday onwards. It also saw isolated heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh from Friday and over east Rajasthan Saturday onwards.
Owing to strengthening of monsoon over the Arabian Sea, enhanced rainfall activity is very likely along the west coast from Friday. Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy-to-very heavy showers are seen over Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, and Kerala from Friday, IMD said.
The weather body said due to revival of the southwest monsoon from Thursday, rainfall intensity and distribution may decrease over northeast India from Friday.
