BHOPAL: On the eve of World Environment Day, a nationwide online campaign was launched for the conservation of Buxwaha forest by the ëWithout Nature Dark Futureí group, whose main objective is to save the forests of Buxwaha from being cut down for diamond mining.
More than 5,000 youths from across the country participated in the campaign and different videos of this campaign have been viewed by more than one million people on social media platforms.
The ëWithout Nature Dark Futureí campaign is also filling up an online petition form, titled ëShare Your Voice with Usí, through its website in which more than 3,000 people have filed the online petition so far. The campaign continuously posts informative documentaries and graphics on social media on various environment-related issues.
Every Friday-Sunday, an Instagram live webinar is organized. Before this, various programmes on environmental awareness have been organized by the campaign by visiting more than 300 schools in different states of India. During this, oaths are also administered to the children to save trees and plant trees.
ëOne Tree for Nationí is being touted by the campaign to plant saplings, through which the team aims to plant 50,000 trees across India. The campaign will continue to run an online campaign regarding the Buxwaha forest conservation until this project is stopped. Continuous online and offline campaigns are being run by the team members for awareness on such issues as climate change.
