Bhopal: Tourism minister Surendra Singh Baghel, said that Tourism Board has identified 80 sites for camping policy. During a review meeting on Tuesday, he instructed the officials to expand adventure and water tourism activities in the state. He directed the officials to start light and sound show in Mandu and Sanchi soon.
During his presentation principal secretary of tourism Hari Ranjan Rao said there was possibility of identification of around 100 more camping sites. City walk was successfully organised at 11 places under City Walk Festival. Go-Heritage Run would be soon organized at Mandu, Pachmarhi and Khajuraho. Various infrastructure developmental workers are underway at Omkareshwar under Prasad Yojana.
Khajuraho was identified by the Central government as iconic site. Khajuraho-New Delhi route is included in Udaan Yojana. Bhopal as museum, Gwalior as music, Chanderi for textile and Indore as cuisine city have been proposed for UNESCO creative city, he added.
Presentations on heritage enhancement and possibilities in heritage sector, camping policy and works done under various circuits were given. Proposed Narmada Parikrama tourism plan was also discussed. Additional managing director of tourism board Bhawna Valimbey and officers of tourism board and tourism corporation were present in the meeting.
