BHOPAL: The projects worth Rs 4875 crore being undertaken with the aid of New Development Bank, should be completed within the time-limit, said Public works minister Gopal Bhargav, here on Wednesday. The minister gave this instruction at a meeting held to review of the NDB project works at Mantralaya.
Under the project, the construction work of 741 km long 82 roads and 80 bridges has been completed at a cost of Rs 2240 crore.
The minister said that upgradation of district roads, renovation, reconstruction of bridges are being done on priority with the financial support of New Development Bank. The construction of these roads will speed up the traffic in the state, it will directly benefit the economic development of the state. He said that these works should be completed within the stipulated time frame and quality.
Principal Secretary PWD Neeraj Mandloi informed that a contract was signed between the Madhya Pradesh Government and New Development Bank for the upgradation and renewal of 82 roadways of 1905 kms with an amount of Rs 3250 crore and for the construction and reconstruction of projects of 156 bridges at a cost of Rs 1628 crore in the year 2018. As much as 70 per cent of the expenditure on these projects was received by the NDB through the Government of India in the form of loan to Madhya Pradesh and 30 per cent amount was provided by the state government from its budget.
