Video: Virat Kohli Receives Rousing Reception As RCB Players Arrive In Chennai Ahead Of IPL 2024 Opener vs CSK

Royal Challenger Banglore players made their arrival at Chennai Airport ahead of their opening match against defending champions Chennai Super Kings on March 23, Friday.

RCB players were assembled at the camp in Bengaluru and began their preparation for the upcoming IPL season. On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore unveiled their new jersey during the RCB Unbox. RCB women's team received a warm reception from the crowd at M Chinnaswamy Stadium as the Smriti Mandhana-led side lift their maiden WPL triumph.

After the RCB Unbox event, players left for Chennai in the night. In a viral video shared by ViratGang.in RCB players can be seen coming out of the Chennai Airport and former captain Virat Kohli was welcomed with rousing reception by the crowd in Chennai.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will play the upcoming IPL season under new name Royal Challengers Bengaluru and a new logo. For unversed, the Governement of Karnataka rechristened city's name to Bengaluru from Bangalore in 2014.

It was already reported that RCB will change their franchise name ahead of IPL 2024. This will apply to women's team when they begin their WPL title defence in the next WPL season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore yet to win IPL title

Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the popular teams, given their huge fanbase and star-studded squad in the history of IPL. However, the Bengaluru-based team is yet to lift their maiden IPL title.

RCB are one of the original three teams alongside Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) and Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils) that haven't clinched the title of the cash-rich franchise T20 league. Royal Challengers Bangalore reached finals twice in 2009 and 2016, but still couldn't get hold of coveted trophy.

Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to three consecutive IPL playoffs from 2020 to 2021 but couldn't past the knockout stage. In the last IPL season, under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, RCB finished 6th in the league stage and failed to qualify for playoffs.

Since 2016, Bengaluru-based team hasn't reached the IPL Final. In the upcoming IPL season, Royal Challengers Bangalore will look put an end to title drought and strive to reach the final, aiming to win maiden IPL triumph in franchise's history.
