With Team India humbling Australia in the Super 8 clash of T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday, Team India fans couldn't control their joy as they saw it as a revenge for 2023 World Cup final defeat. Hence, a fan sledged Pat Cummins while he was walking back to the dressing room as a video of the same went viral on social media.

With Australia and India locking horns in T20 World Cup 2024, the narrative was around the Men in Blue looking for revenge of the defeat suffered in the 50-over final last year. Rohit Sharma and co. extracted a 24-run victory over Australia to push them on the brink of elimination, prompting a sledge from an Indian fan.

The Indian fan said:

"Hey pat that's for 2023 , that's a revenge for 2023, remember Ahmedabad? And you going home tomorrow."

Afghanistan knock Australia out of the competition and semi-final spot:

After India defeated Australia by 24 runs, Afghanistan delivered the final nail in the coffin in the game against Bangladesh. With Australia's fate out of their hands after losing to India, they needed Bangladesh to beat Afghanistan on Tuesday in Kingstown. The Tigers did a good job in restricting Afghanistan to 115 in 20 overs.

However, none of the batters bar Litton Das had an answer to Afghanistan's bowlers as he kept losing partners in pursuit of the score. With Bangladesh needing to chase down the total in 12.1 overs to reach the semi-finals, they went for it but kept losing wickets. Afghanistan eventually won by 8 runs to seal a semi-final berth.
