Team India's regular captain Rohit Sharma is expected to fly to Australia soon, having rendered himself unavailable for the first Test in Perth. According to a report by Cricbuzz, the right-handed batter will join the team on November 24 and is likely to be ready for the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, beginning on December 6.

With the opening batter's wife Ritika Sajdeh recently giving birth to a baby boy, he reportedly communicated to the BCCI about his unavailability for the first Test. However, he is set to be available for the crucial day-night Test for which he is also likely to be part of India A squad for the practice match against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra.

Rohit is inevitably under pressure due to the crushing series series loss to New Zealand, 3-0 at home. The 37-year-old managed only 91 runs in six innings alongside a solitary fifty-plus score in what proved to be a historic series loss for India.

"I don’t have to say anything about Virat Kohli the batter" - Jasprit Bumrah expects big runs from star batter in the five-Test series

With a major focus on Virat Kohli due to his exploits in Australia but also given his recent lean run, Bumrah said he doesn't have anything to say about the 36-year-old, given his professionalism and full awareness of what he is doing. He said, as quoted by ICC:

"I don’t have to say anything about Virat Kohli the batter. He’s one of the greats of the game. I don’t need to have any anecdotes or special inputs to give him. He’s the utmost professional that we have in our team. He’s got a lot of success, he’s one of the leaders. I made my debut under him. So he knows what he’s doing."
