Under the slogan of one leader, one flag, one ground, the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena will hold the traditional Dussehra rally today. However, it will be interesting to know which rally will be successful in gathering a larger crowd as a similar rally is scheduled to take place at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), organised by the Eknath Shinde faction.
The rally has been a trade mark of Sena for the last 56 years. It was first held by the party founder, the late Balasaheb Thackeray, on October 30, 1966, at the same Shivaji Park located in the Dadar area of Mumbai.

While the Uddhav Thackeray faction will hold its rally at the historic Shivaji Park in Dadar in central Mumbai, a venue associated with the Shiv Sena since its inception in 1966, the rebel group led by Shinde has organised their event at the MMRDA ground at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in the suburbs The sprawling MMRDA ground is located close to 'Matoshree', the private residence of the Thackeray family in suburban Bandra.

Western Railway issues clarification after it was claimed that Sena rally was televised live on local trains
It has come to light through some social media channels that a rally of a certain political party was televised live on local trains. The Western Railway has not given any such permission. In fact, the contract agreement explicitly restricts the display of any advertisement/content of political nature.
An explanation on this matter has been called from the licensed contractor. Prima facie, it is informed that a live political rally was displayed on an LED panel inside local trains for 10-15 minutes. Once it was noted the live display was stopped.
