Mumbai's traffic control room received a threat message on Tuesday, threatening that UP CM Yogi Adityanath & PM Modi government are on target. Adding more gravity to the threat, the accused also threatened to be ready for a 26/11 like terrorist attack. A case under section 509 (2) of the IPC has been registered against an unknown person, said Mumbai Police according to a report in ANI.

Death Threat to UP CM on Social Media

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received a death threat on July 16. The cyber-crime police station's monitoring team, responsible for tracking social media posts involving government officials and ministers, swiftly registered a case and launched a thorough investigation.

The First Information Report (FIR) filed by Constable Rajesh Tiwari revealed that the threatening post on Twitter not only used abusive language against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath but also issued death threats.

The post, attributed to a user with the handle "@rockQureshi," was brought to the attention of the authorities by advocate Kalpna Srivastava. The advocate further disclosed that some of the abusive posts were subsequently deleted by the user.

FIR Registered In the Matter

Following the receipt of the complaint, the Cyber Cell's Station House Officer (SHO), Mohammed Muslim Khan, promptly registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (IT) Act.

The sections cited include intentional insult (IPC 504), criminal intimidation by anonymous communication (IPC 507), circulating alarming statements in public (IPC 505), and Section 66 of the IT Act.

Another Threat Call Received Last Week

On July 12, the Mumbai Police received a chilling call from an unidentified individual, who issued a threat linking to the deadly 26/11 terror attack. The call was linked to Seema Haider, who had fled from Pakistan to India with her four children through illegal means via Nepal.

The caller demanded Seema's return to her native country, warning of an impending attack if she failed to comply. However, the Mumbai Police later deemed the call a hoax and initiated an investigation into the matter.
