Chief Minister Eknath Shinde released an updated list of guardian ministers for 12 districts on Wednesday (October 4) where Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar got Pune.
Mumbai: In an indication that the differences in the partners of the ruling alliance have all been sorted out, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Wednesday, reshuffled the allocation of guardina ministers for 12 districts in the state. While the NCP has an upper hand in the new allocation, a few distrcts have gone from the BJP to the NCP even as DCM Devendra Fadnavis’s load has been shared among fellow party miniters.
After Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar skipped cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the NCP got guardian minister’s post for most of the desired districts. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde released updated list of guardian ministers for 12 districts wherein Ajit Pawar got Pune, while NCP’s Hassan Mushriff, Dhananjay Munde Dharmarao Baba Atram and Anil Patil got Kolhapur, Beed, Gondia and Nandurbar respectively. On the contrary, BJP's Chandrakant Patil, who handled Pune till now, is shunted out to Solapur. Patil has been given an additional charge of Amarawati which was with DCM Fadnavis. Akola also was with Fadnavis which has gone to Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil now. The BJP has also been ousted from Nandurbar, by the NCP while the Shiv Sena under Shinde was ousted from Kolhapur by Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
Other changes announced by the Chief minister are - Bhandara - Vijaykumar Gavit, Buldana - Dileep Walse-Patil, Parbhani - Sanjay Bansode, Nandurbar - Anil Patil and Wardha - Sudhir Mungantiwar.
However, even after the reshuffle, issues related to three key districts are still far from having been resolved indicating that the differences over issue still persists. These are Raigad, Nashik and Satara. Bharat Gogawale of the Shiv Sena MLA from Mahad is waiting to be inducted in the cabinet and take charge as the guardian minister of Raigad, while Satara, a district close to Ajit Pawar’s heart is currently with Shiv Sena’s ShambhuRaje Desai. Another prominent NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal had been trying hard for Nashik. However, there too Shinde’s close confident Dadaji Bhuse hasan’t been touched.
