The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has sought additional 90-days time to file a chargesheet in the drugs case concerning Aryan Khan, in which the star kid was arrested early last October.

As the deadline of 180-days to file the chargesheet was fast approaching, the agency made the request through an application before the special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

On October 2 last year, the NCB conducted a raid at the luxury cruise ship Cordelia. In the raid, Aryan Khan was among some youth detained. The following day, it arrested him along with seven, among whom was his friend Arbaaz Merchant. In the coming days, the agency made as many as 17 arrests, taking the total arrests in the case to 20.

In the raid, the agency claimed it recovered drugs as well as cash. It booked the youngsters under stringent provisions of the NDPS Act pertaining to illegal trafficking and harbouring of offenders as well as criminal conspiracy. Some youth who the agency claimed to peddlers were also arrested in subsequent arrests. The quantity of drugs found was then alleged to be commercial quantity on the basis of the combined seizures.

After being denied bail by the special court, Aryan Khan and two others managed to get bail from the Bombay High Court. Thereafter, the special court granted bail to many other co-accused. Presently, only two of the arrested 20 remain in judicial custody.
