WATCH: CNG Bus Catches Fire In Haryana's Faridabad, No Injuries Reported
A CNG bus caught fire in Haryana's Faridabad on Wednesday.
Faridabad, Haryana - A Haryana Roadways CNG bus en route from Gurugram caught fire near Gate No-1 of Sainik Colony, creating a chaotic scene as passengers hurriedly evacuated the vehicle. The incident unfolded as smoke began emanating from the bus, prompting the driver to take quick action by applying the brakes and allowing passengers to disembark. Moments later, flames engulfed the bus, reducing it to ashes. Remarkably, no passengers sustained injuries during the incident.
Eyewitness Rashid, a taxi driver, recounted the sequence of events, stating that the bus was traveling from Gurugram to Faridabad when smoke became apparent. Passengers quickly exited the bus and scattered, and in a matter of moments, the bus was consumed by flames. Authorities were promptly informed, and both the police and fire department responded. Although firefighters managed to control the blaze, the bus was already extensively damaged, leading to significant traffic congestion in the vicinity.
Monu, the bus driver, noted that upon observing smoke inside the moving bus, he promptly halted the vehicle. Fortunately, the bus carried only ten passengers, all of whom managed to evacuate safely.
