The National Center for Seismology has said that the earthquake of magnitude 4.1 has hit the Kachchh region of Gujarat. There are no reports of any damage or loss of life due to the earthquake.

Kachchh: An earthquake of magnitude has hit Gujarat's Kachchh region on Thursday. The National Center for Seismology has said that the earthquake of magnitude 4.1 has hit the Kachchh region of Gujarat. There are no reports of any damage or loss of life due to the earthquake. The earthquake occurred at 08.06 AM in the morning and the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 15 KM.

National Center for Seismology informed about the earthquake

The National Center for Seismology on its official social media account said, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.1,Occurred on 01-02-2024, 08:06:39 IST, Lat: 24.27 & Long: 70.21, Depth: 15 Km, Region."

An earthquake of magnitude of 4.0 hit the Kutch district

Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude of 4.0 hit the Kutch district of Gujarat on Sunday (January 28). However, there was no report of any damage or loss of life in the earthquake that hit the Kutch district. The epicentre of the earthquake was reported near Bharush district, said Institute of Seismological Research (ISR).

ISR reports claimed that the earthquake hit Kutch at 4.45PM

The ISR reports claimed that the earthquake hit Kutch at 4.45PM on Sunday evening and the epicentre was around 21 km north, northwest (NNW) from Bhachau. The district is located in a "very high risk" seismic zone. The region witnesses tremors of very low intensity on a regular basis.

Massive earthquake occurred in 2001

A massive earthquake had hit the region in the year 2001, which resulted in the deaths of over 13,000 people and the earthquake left 1.67 lakh people injured. A huge damage to properties was also reported due to the earthquake, leaving thousands of people homeless.
