Delhi Crime: Over 60 Rounds Of Fire Exchanged Between Rival Gangs In North-East Delhi's Welcome Area, Girl Injured After Getting Shot; Videos Surface
A 22-year-old girl was hit in the chest while standing on her balcony and is seriously injured. The incident has spread fear and panic in the area, and police officials are investigating the matter.
In North East Delhi's Welcome area, heavy firing erupted between two rival groups on Saturday (October 19) evening, with locals claiming that over 60 rounds were fired.
A 22-year-old girl was hit in the chest while standing on her balcony and is seriously injured. The incident has spread fear and panic in the area, and police officials are investigating the matter.
A large number of police personnel reached the spot and the matter is under investigation.
Delhi Police in a statement said, "Information was received today (Saturday) regarding the quarrel and firing at Z 2 and Raja Market Welcome. On receiving of information Senior Officer, ASI Vishal along with staff reached the place of occurrence, where empty cartridges were found in the street."
"On enquiry from caller and locality, it is revealed that during this firing one girl of age 22 yrs was injured and was admitted to GTB Hospital. It was a fight between jeans wholesalers over money. The crime team is present on the spot and a total of 17 exhibits were lifted including empty cartridges, live cartridges and deformed metal pieces. The investigation is in progress. Few culprits have been nabbed," said Delhi Police.
