Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, who rose to fame as playback artist Aarohi Keshav Shirke in the 2013 romantic musical Aashiqui 2, crooned the song Chahun Main Ya Naa at Bharatiya Janata Party’s Marathi dandiya event in Mumbai’s Dadar. The crowd let out a loud cheer with many whistling and praising Shraddha’s singing skills. Watch the video below.

For the event, Shraddha wore a peach lehenga and accessorised it with jhumkas and bangles. She kept her hair back into a sleek ponytail and let her natural skin glow with minimal yet dewy makeup.

Shraddha was present for the event on Navami, which is the ninth day of the Navratri festival. Devotees perform different rituals on Navami. As per Hindu mythology, Maa Durga killed the buffalo demon Mahishasura on this day. Many perform Kanya Puja/Kanjak on this day. Young and unmarried girls who have not attained puberty are worshipped as Durga in many households. They are invited to houses as their feet are washed and offered prasad. Navami is followed by Dussehra, which marks the celebration of good over evil.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shraddha's most recent appearance was alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the romantic comedy 'Tu Jhooti Main Makakar'.

She is set to reunite with Rajkummar Rao for 'Stree 2'. The film recently commenced shooting in the picturesque town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh.

The creators of this upcoming horror-comedy announced the project with great fanfare during a lavish event in Mumbai in April. During the event, the team presented a skit to unveil the release date of the eagerly anticipated sequel.

Audiences can expect the sequel to hit theaters in August 2024. Joining Shraddha and Rajkummar, the film will also feature the talents of Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.
