Late Bollywood actress Parveen Babi's beach-facing flat, which reportedly wears a deserted look, is up for sale and rent.

According to a report in ETimes, brokers are trying to get the terrace flat sold or rented out but no party has shown any significant interest yet.

The flat is on the 7th floor of Riviera Building in Mumbai's Juhu area, where Parveen was found dead in 2005.

The flat is being quoted at Rs 15 crore for outright purchase and the monthly rent of the flat is Rs 4 lakh.

The news report further stated that a certain Jitendra is said to be coordinating with the brokers to sell the flat. However, it is not yet known if he's the owner of the flat because the name plate in the building's lobby still bears the name, Parveen Babi. On the other hand, the flat's door says 'Parveen Babi's Charitable Trust'.

In 2014, a tenant lived in the flat but he ran into trouble when he was accused of using it for commercial purposes. Subsequently, the tenant was asked to evict the house.

A source informed the news website that the thought that the actress was found four days after her death in the same flat has made the people feel 'uncomfortable' with the idea of moving into it.

Parveen Babi was found dead at her residence in January 2005 after her neighbours noticed that she had not collected the newspaper and groceries from her door for a long time. Post-mortem reports had stated that no traces of food were found in her stomach, suggesting that she had probably died of starvation.

From being one of the highest-paid and most popular actresses of her time to being diagnosed with schizophrenia, Parveen's life has been a tumultuous rollercoaster ride.

Parveen marked her debut with the 1973 film 'Charitra' and became an overnight sensation. She went on to deliver back-to-back hits over the years with 'Deewaar', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Suhaag', 'Kaala Patthar', 'The Burning Train', 'Shaan', 'Kaalia', and 'Namak Halaal'.
