Bhopal: Woman Dies As Container Rams Into 2 Vehicles, Driver Flees
According to Koh-e-fiza police, the woman who died in the accident was Shantibai Shrivas (46), a resident of Teela Jamalpura.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman was crushed to death when a recklessly-driven container truck rammed into three vehicles including a car and an autorickshaw in front of collectorate on Friday noon. The woman was returning home after purchasing vegetables. The driver fled from the spot.
According to Koh-e-fiza police, the woman who died in the accident was Shantibai Shrivas (46), a resident of Teela Jamalpura. She visited collectorate to purchase vegetables on Friday noon and was heading to bus stop to catch a bus back home.
Meanwhile, a speeding container truck rammed into a moving car and an autorickshaw. After ramming into them, the truck, which had lost control, ran over Shrivas, killing her on the spot.
The autorickshaw and the car were mangled in the incident but their drivers survived. The driver of the container fled from the spot. The locals created a ruckus on the scene, which led to traffic jam. The police sent the woman’s body for post-mortem. Efforts are on to arrest driver.

MP Nagar police said that the SUV belongs to Suresh Kumar Tope. He and his wife were heading to Arera Hills when they spotted fumes billowing out their car. Without wasting any time, Tope stopped the vehicle and along with wife deborded it.
Police patrolling in the area rushed to the spot and diverted the traffic immediately. The fire station was also informed. It took half-an-hour time for three fire tenders to douse the blaze. The exact reason behind the car catching the fire is yet to be ascertained, said police.
