Mumbai: A 46-year-old flier was arrested at domestic airport on Sunday night when he was about to board a Kolkata-bound flight with forged travel ticket. The flier Deepak Mulla works in a jewellery shop in Kalbadevi of Mumbai.
After preliminary investigation, the police found the air ticket was forged by a travel agent Dilip Jana (29) who had booked the same flight for one of his clients. Both – the travel agent as well as flier – are the natives of West Bengal.
“The travel agent had booked an air ticket for one of his clients, who later cancelled his plan to travel to Kolkata. Meanwhile, Mulla contacted the travel agent for a ticket to Kolkata. So in a bid to make money from both the clients, the travel agent forged the air ticket and handed it over to Mulla,” said an officer from Airport police.
