Mumbai: The local train services on the central railway line were delayed for the second consecutive day on Wednesday morning. This time it was due to an engine failure of a long-distance train. On Wednesday, the local train services between Kalyan and Kasara stations were delayed for more than an hour.
The services were delayed after a Punjab Mail express train halted near Umbermali station on the central line. “The express train halted due to an engine failure. The incident took place at 7:10amand it took at least one and half hour for completing the repair work,” said a central railway official. The commuters were once again delayed in reaching their offices as the local train services were delayed between Kalyan to Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).
