Indore: Continuing their struggle for justice to innocent children who lost their lives in the tragic DPS bus accident on January 5 last, parents approached Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan seeking her support on Tuesday. “Tai instead favoured the schools and refused to consider the position of parents who do not trust any private school in city. She rather blamed parents for choosing schools that did not have proper facilities,” said one of the parents, Aditi Nath.
“You knew that school has shortcomings, then why did you choose to send your child there?” Sumitra questioned. Failing to garner the LS Speaker’s support, the aggrieved parents later held a private meeting to chalk out their future strategies to proceed ahead in getting justice for the deceased schoolchildren and ensure safety of other kids as well. Explaining their concern, parent Mahendra Diwakar said, “The magisterial probe report clearly finds school owner and principal guilty of negligence in ensuring safety of the students, but the sad truth is that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan though managed to pull up a good show by visiting parents of the victims some two-three days after the accident, on the sly he instructed officials not to take any action against the DPS owner.”
He further rued that the CM’s instruction was the reason the principal was being spared. Discussing their struggle, Diwakar said, “We have been fighting hard for justice but with power and media in his hand, owner of the Delhi Public School, HM Gupta is still free, safe and free of worries.” He added that the school works on principles of dictatorship and it seems that owner can dictate even justice. “School has not even considered meeting with the parents and despite the probe finding him guilty, no action is being taken against the owner,” visibly anguished Diwakar said.
