Indore: Following rolling out of online application filing by State Goods and Service Tax (SGST) appeal board from January 18 last, experts provided the much-needed training in the process to tax consultants here on Monday. Technical and software expert team of the SGST department gave demonstration of the online application procedure and relevant documents to more than 40 CAs and tax consultants present at the programme.
Secretary (SGST) Tax Practitioners Association (TPA) CA JP Saraf informed that chairman of the appeal board, Dr Rajan Katoch from Bhopal was especially present, who received feedback and suggestions from participating CAs and tax consultants.
On the legitimate suggestions he on the spot instructed technical support team for taking necessary actions. He also delivered thanks to tax consultants for giving some of fine suggestions and also, for their activism due to which this time more appeal cases could be resolved. Katoch said that online application filing process was rolled out from January 18 in the state and thus tax consultants should take advantage of this facility more.
“Initially, after 15 days of online filing of application, tax consultants will have to file a paper application also, the date of which would be considered as per date of online filing. In case of any deficiency of documents or processor, soon a message would be sent to tax consultants for its disposal and necessary information would be available on portal also,” Katoch said. Case status can be monitored on the portal also. Though hearing of the cases will be done in court room only, with the help of online procedure, people will not have to visit office for appeal or stay applications, he added.
