What: An exhibition of paintings titled ‘Glimpses of Rural Life & Culture’ in oil on canvas by Sachin Sutar a young artist from Kolhapur. It will highlight relevant features of our rich culture and traditions in rural areas with due emphasis on their peculiarities.
Sachin Sutar had his art education in J.J. School of Arts Mumbai and thereafter showcased his work in 6 art exhibitions earlier in different art galleries in Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Goa etc. The present series of art work exemplifies the vivid features of the simple yet rich social life prevalent in our villages and relevant vignettes of that culture and traditions. Various works displayed in the present show indicate his innovation skill in techniques used and command over the medium. The sadhus, village people ladies engaged in daily worships in religious pilgrims to Pandharpur, the ladies in pleasant and divine religious moods and spirit while going to temples for worships in the mornings etc certainly reveal the salient peculiarities of his thematic endeavours in the relevant perspectives of visual arts.
