Times Literary Carnival 2012
What: Since Mumbai was born in aspiration, and money remains its compulsive drive, the core theme of the 2012 TOI Literary Carnival is ‘Greed, The City & the Pursuit of Happiness’. Several panels will be structured around this idea, discussing money, the skyline, corruption, film, even sex and food. Suketu Mehta will give the keynote address and Ruchir Sharma will close the festival. Among other attractions: Arvind Kejriwal will be interviewed by Arnab Goswami. Mira Nair will discuss her latest film. Historians Ramachandra Guha and William Dalrymple will launch their latest books. And Chetan Bhagat will spar with Barkha Dutt on what young India really wants. There will be book launches, workshops, hang-out zones and activities for children and young adults.
